Timber is a vital part of most buildings, from floor joists and roof structures to decorative joinery. It is also vulnerable to decay and infestation when exposed to damp conditions. At Northway Building Preservation we carry out specialist timber surveys to assess condition, identify problems and specify the right remediation solutions.

Our Approach

Our timber surveys cover all forms of deterioration including wet rot, dry rot and wood-boring insects. Using both visual inspection and measurement tools, we determine the extent of damage and whether timbers remain sound. Structural elements such as sub-floor joists, roof timbers and lintels receive particular attention, as decay in these areas can compromise safety.

The survey report sets out:
